Milestones Achieved
Awarded the prestigious PADMA SHRI by the President of India in 2005 for his monumental contribution to the field of medicine.
Initiated the Micro Neurosurgical Laboratory Training Programme, which was the first of its kind in India at AIIMS.
Pioneered the regular operation of closed brachial plexus injuries and demonstrated the role of NMR for these injuries in India.
Became the first surgeon to successfully operate on neurosurgical patients as a "Day Care Surgery" (Short stay surgery) in India.
Demonstrated an exceptional success rate with less than 1% mortality in his personal neurosurgical series from 2001-2003.
Authored and published over 30 books & monographs and contributed to 149 scientific journals globally.
